What can I do with Telepin?

Change your iPhone’s GPS from your PC. Be anywhere in one click, walk, cycle or drive a route, hop between stops or steer by hand. See what apps show in another city, or test geofences and route tracking from your desk.

Will it work with my iPhone?

Know before you plug in: you need iOS 17.4 or later, Developer Mode and a first connection by trusted USB, and you test one iPhone at a time. So far we have tested against a simulated iPhone, so check Maps on yours before you rely on it. It has not yet been checked on a physical iPhone, including iOS 26.7.

Some apps can detect a simulated location or refuse it. We do not promise that every app will accept it.

How do I get back to my real location?

One click: select Restore real GPS, then check Maps on your iPhone. Your phone stays where the test left it, after Pause, Stop or the end of a route, so you can inspect the result. Only Restore real GPS brings you back.

If the connection drops, reconnect and restore. A failed restore stays on screen, so you don’t walk away stuck. If recovery still fails, restart your iPhone and check Maps.

Why does Windows warn me about the installer?

This early-access build is unsigned. If Windows shows an unknown-publisher notice, select More info, then Run anyway.

Smart App Control is stricter, and it may block the installer or parts of the app. Telepin will not run on that PC until a signed build is available. We do not ask you to turn Smart App Control off.

Can I lose the cable?

Once you have connected by USB, you can set up Wi-Fi and work with the phone across the room. Stop movement, restore any simulated location and choose Set up Wi-Fi. Then disconnect, unplug and connect over Wi-Fi on the same local network. You can reconnect the same phone by USB to recover.

Wireless pairing, movement and restoring have not yet been checked on a physical iPhone.

Is there a Mac version?

There is no Mac app to install yet. The source and build guide for Apple Silicon Macs are available, and you need Python 3.13, Node.js 24 or later and the Xcode Command Line Tools. The Mac build has not been tested yet. Read the Mac guide.

What does it cost, and where does my data go?

You can try it free, with no account or card, and read the source under GPL-3.0-or-later.

Your saved places and routes stay on your computer. Viewing maps, searching for places and planning road routes sends requests to outside map services. Read the privacy details.
